One thing to practise

Example analysis

Illustrative feedback, not a result from an uploaded video.

What to work on

Your loading leg stays tall.

Lower through your hips before starting the forward swing.

Try this drill

Practise shadow forehands. Pause in the loaded position, then swing forward.

See the supporting measurement

In this example, the knee angle helps explain the observation. In your analysis, available measurements include confidence information.

How it works

Take the feedback onto the court.

  1. 01

    Record your forehand

Use a short side-view clip. Upload a video or record one in your browser.

  2. 02

    Find your focus

Review the observation and its supporting measurements. Get a cue and a drill to practise.

  3. 03

    Practise, then record again

Work on the cue in your next session. Your saved analyses are there when you come back.

Recording guide

Give the camera a clear view.

  • Film from the side

Position your phone beside the player so the swing is visible.

  • Keep the whole movement in frame

Include the player from head to feet, the racket and room for the follow-through.

  • Keep the phone steady

Use good lighting and a clear background. Keep other players out of the shot.

Place the phone to the side of the player, far enough away to capture their full body and racket throughout the swing.

About the beta

Before your first clip.

Do I need special equipment?

A phone and a browser are enough. Create an account, verify your email and upload a clip or use the recorder. No club account or court installation needed.

What if the video cannot be assessed?

If the movement is not clear enough, Afterhit explains the issue and how to record a better clip. Feedback is automated and provisional. Use it alongside your own judgement and coaching.

How does the free beta work?

You get 100 credits each month. Each detected forehand uses one credit, with a minimum of one credit per accepted video. Credits reset at the start of each UTC month and do not roll over. Processing depends on available beta capacity.

Will my clips be used to improve the model?

Only if you choose to contribute them. Model improvement is optional and does not change the analysis you receive. You review the data-use terms before uploading.
